Plastribution Raises £3,000 for Local Foodbanks

Plastribution has raised £3,000 for local foodbanks and Christmas dinner groups by cycling for 24 hours.

On the 24th of November the Plastribution team cycled for a total of 24 hours to raise money and food donations for Ashby and Coalville food banks. We also supported the Swannington Community Hall Christmas lunch, where families and individuals can go on Christmas day for a meal.

Using a single bike, situated at the Everyone Active centre in Coalville, 30 employees signed up to take part in the challenge, cycling anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour.

As a team we were able to raise £1650 through our JustGiving page and a further £250 from generous passers by. The team at Everyone Active were incredibly supportive and encouraged the team to keep going! The Plastribution Charity Committee generously rounded up the rest of the funds to £3000 – so that £1000 each could be contributed to each charity.

The money was donated the following week to the Ashby Foodbank, Coalville Foodbank and Swannington Community Hall Christmas Lunch, who said that with this donation they will be able to provide food and decorations for this Christmas and the next!

We are very proud of our team and we are hopeful that this donation can be of help to people this Christmas.
